1. This list is bad, silk is best. Linen is second though, I'll agree there.
2. Who tied that tie? Scrubby McBadknot?
3. You had an entire encyclopedia of tie knot pics to take from my tie-lopnik posts and you chose that noose tied from motel drapes?

Cool, but not a tie, as it doesn't have a knot.

There's nothing quite like a nice Cotton Tie, properly tied. I put silk in 2nd, though.
Sorta on topic: How do you feel about the not-symmetric knots? They drive me insane:

I'm wearing cotton ties.

Turrible. Tiebar.com and get some silk or wool. If I'm going for any type of solid color I like the natural heathering that wool will give, and it's a more classic material.

silk is the only way to go for bowties, which are the only tie I like to rock

The bolo tie was made the official neckwear of Arizona in 1971. New Mexico passed a non-binding measure to designate the bolo as the state's official neckwear in 1987. On March 13, 2007, New Mexico Governor, Bill Richardson, signed into law that the bolo tie is now the state's official tie.[2] Also in 2007, the bolo tie was named the official tie of Texas.
[facepalm]

holy cr@p - "Scrubby Mcbadknot" is now forever burned into my brain.
Personally, I prefer a softer, tie, (silk, microfiber) but with a mid to wide width, stripe or tight pattern, half-windsor knot. Not a fan of the super skinny ties or extra-fancy, multi-layer knots.

New product idea: Alcanatara ties for Jalops. Following the upholstery theme, what about ties made from the seats of a '80's Cadillac? Perhaps a performance line of finely woven carbon fiber ties...
